Gallery of sacred art

Room 2, second floor of the museum

Sacred art is artwork that is connected with faith and religious life. Works of a sacred nature are created in all fields of art. In this room we present mainly 19th century oil paintings, most of which are copies of paintings by Leonardo da Vinci, Peter Paul Rubens, Anton van Dyck, among others. You can also see sculptures from Spanish culture, chasubles, liturgical vessels and field altar settings, among others. Particularly noteworthy is Viktor Vasnetsov's (1848-1926) painting "Mary with Child."
